Reflection

Day 2 is over-such a great day. Today my food and friends group bagged groceries for the clients that can still prepare food but have a hard time getting to the grocery store (the staff member gave the example of patients with kidney failure who have to go to frequent dialasis appointments). Like I mentioned earlier we worked with a group from SCU-- at first things were a little awkward between the two groups but by the end we were taking pictures,  singing Adelle, and signing each others aprons. We also saw a poster with a bulldog and signatures from a previous asb group. It was really cool to think that in 4 years or.so, when a new group is here they'll see our names. Tomorrow I'll be delivering, which I've been looking forward to since we got here. I can't wait to see the faces of the people we've been working to help.

Little Sisters of the Poor was great today. First I volunteered for a group to go down to the kitchen. We didn't know what we were doing but soon found out, much to our surprise,  we were helping clean up. It was hard work, but also gratifying to see immediate results that you don't always see from working with people, or in other behind the scenes jobs. Then we did karaoke with the residents. I think singing with them and seeing everyone so happy may have been the best feeling so far.

St. Anthony's wad adorable!  When I went into my class of 1st and 2nd graders all the girls from yesterday ran up and hugged me,it was too cute. They are all so genuinely happy to get any attention. I can't imagine anyone not wanting to spend all day with them. Then we got to give them the balls, chalk, and games that we picked up at target yesterday. It wad so awesome to see the looks on their faces just to have something as simple as sidewalk chalk. I'm sad tomorrow is our last day with them.

Off to bed. Can't believe tomorrow is our last day at the volunteer sites, but so excited to make food deliveries!

..Also took the metro into the city tonight and had to walk through Catholic's campus. Got some great pictures!
